My Satisfaction
In the area I spent most of my mission we were teaching this one less active named Shawn. How we met him was kind of the most amazing thing to think back on. Every single thing had to fall exactly into place how it did in order for us to meet him. My companion Sister Nolin and I were going to meet with a potential investigator with a member who had just recently gotten back from her mission to Argentina. We went to the potentials house and she wasn't there, but we decided that because the member was with us that we would go walk around the trailer park that we were at and try to street contact that way.
After we had been walking around for about 30 minutes we decided to go back to our cars. While we were on our way back to our car the member stopped and started talking to this guy. And she was talking to him about how we (my companion and myself) would come over to his house and teach him and his wife and we'd give them a family home evening lesson and that it'll bring their family closer together.
The only way we would have met Shawn was because the spirit guided us to a place we knew, the trailer park, and then the spirit guided us to the person that needed us most.
Sister Nolin and I taught him on and off for about 2 months. Because most of the time he seemed semi interested in what we were teaching but then other times he would just think that it was repetitious.
In October Sister Nolin was transferred and I got a new companion Sister Taliulu. And we kept on teaching Shawn. One night we were going over to his house and Sister Taliulu said "Lets invite him to go to church." At this point I had been teaching him for a while so I kind of knew that he wouldn't come to church because he had too many issues. But wanting a positive attitude I said "Okay, we can try, but just be warned that he probably wont say yes." But we said a prayer and then went into the appointment.
What happened in that appointment was nothing more than a miracle. We went into the appointment with the direction from the spirit that we needed to not leave that house until we got the answer that he was going to come to church with us.
When we got to the point in the lesson where we extended him the invitation to come to church with us. He, as I knew he would, declined, but we weren't leaving without a yes. So we said everything we could to get him to come to church with us. A couple of times I thought we were going to get kicked out of his house. The most significant things that were said when we weren't taking no for an answer was my comp saying, "Don't bull crap us Shawn! If you say you're going to come to church with us you have to, otherwise we'll come bang down your door and drag you to church."
Also I said "You don't go to church for other people Shawn (because he had said that he doesn't want to go because of all the hypocrites there) you go to church for YOU, you take the sacrament for YOU not anyone else. Everyone else is just there to do the exact same thing."
One more "Can I call you guys on Friday to let you know if I'm going to come or not?" -Shawn
"No because you're just going to call us and tell us you're not coming."
That Sunday we were sitting in the chapel waiting for church to start and then realized Shawn wasn't there so we ran out to the foyer and we saw Shawn walk up to the doors. I was jumping up and down. Because I was so happy. Shawn had such a hard time with church in general and I was just so happy that he had made the decision to come to church.
That was pretty much the best moment of my mission. That is my favorite story to tell because Shawn could be anyone you know. Your coworker, your neighbor, even a family member. And they might just need a little nudge.

Long Time No Post
Well a lot of things have happened since then.
- I finished my first year of college
- I got a job at.........McDonald's. I know that its the worst job in the world, but I've kept at it and kept the job for the longest I've ever held a job.
- I started my second year of college and I got all A's and B's fall semester and I'm so happy about it.
- The most exciting thing is I've decided to go on a mission!
Now I know I'm not one to preach my religion, but if anyone has any questions about the LDS church you can go to lds.org and you'll be able to have all of your questions answered.
I'm going to try to be better and update my blog more often. I've been reading one blog and she just talks about her normal life and it makes me just want to post more often.
Make good choices!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner
Last Monday I went on a date to go see the Hunger Games again (I'll try to remember to make a post about my opinion). Anyways because my date doesn't have a car I decided to drive. While I was driving to my date's apartment I was just driving along and then I saw this guy that sort of had a jacket that looked like my ex boyfriend Kyle's. Turns out it was him! He looked like a hobo and I'm not even joking, he had longer hair it looked like it was getting close to his shoulders. He had a long beard and he was carrying a backpack.......yeah he looked like a hobo.
Anyways as I was driving I started laughing my head off because he looked SO ridiculous and then I started figuring out the things that I've done in my life that he hasn't.
- I graduated from high school. As far as I know he hasn't even gotten his GED and he's turning 21 this year.
- I'm going to college and this time next year I'll be graduating with my Associates.
- I haven't been engaged to 3 girls in the last 3 years. He has been with countless girls since me and he has been engaged at LEAST twice and has never gotten married.

Long Time No Blog
Biggest things that have happened in the last two months:
- I bought my Hunger Games Tickets!!! We're going at 12:13AM Friday. We meaning Tedi, Chase, David, and me.
- I kind of got written off by Cory " I have my 'soul mate' narrowed down to 2 girls: one you might know the second you definitely don't know" Yeah he forgot about our deal we made over two years ago. How's that for awesome?
- I saw Ryan on the bus and he acted as though he didn't tell me in January that he didn't want to be my friend anymore.
Those are the biggest things that have happened.
I am still writing my friends who are on missions, and also writing this guy who's on his mission in Canada. It takes like 3 weeks for the letter to get there and then about a week or so to get here. Its a long process and I've only gotten 2 letters and I started writing him in December. I can't read the crazy Canadian mail system ink on my letter otherwise I'd be able to tell when I got my last letter, but its just been a really long time.
I love the show Grey's Anatomy, I've watched all I can on Netflix and I'm dying to watch the next season but I can't find it anywhere! I need to know what happens! The season finale was a killer! Anyways that's all I've been up to lately.

Home
He then told me like a couple days later that we could be friends. Then after I asked for my pictures back he told me I was being too dramatic and couldn't be friends with me anymore and that our personalities were too different.
I should have known it was going to be the same when he got home. That he wouldn't be the man he was in my letters. That him "signing" himself over to me would be real. I was so naive to think that he would have changed in the last year since I'd seen him.
I'm just glad I figured out that he wasn't for me before I got way too attached, that I didn't end up in a relationship with him that wasn't a healthy one. Don't worry I'm not upset or anything i'm perfectly fine. I'm just happy I still get to go out there and look for men!

What's Up with Guys?
Anyways PB knows I'm waiting for Ryan and PB is waiting for his best friend to come home so he was giving me some tips on how to wait. Yeah a GUY was telling me how to wait because I was kind of sad this one day and really missing Ryan and I was talking to PB and he was telling me all these things I need to do like, keep myself busy (which I am I'm taking 15 credits this semester and next semester check!), Go out and have fun (um I went to a girls night the week before so check!) and I can't remember what else but I was thinking is he REALLY telling me how to wait?
Then this last week he was asking me what Ryan is like so I told him and PB says "I approve" Umm sorry buddy but I don't need your approval. Ryan and I will decide if it's right for me to wait, not some random third party.
So all in all I'm hating guys, they just aren't as up to snuff as Ryan. Its making me wish that the next 19 months go by fast.

Breaking Dawn Part 1 SPOILERS!

As always I went to the premiere of Breaking Dawn. This time it wasn't just Sidney and I like it usually is, Sidney had us go with some of her coworkers. First off i didn't know these girls and I was a little bit worried about it. So we were supposed to meet at 530 but I was meeting at our friend Asia's house and it took me forever to get there and then it took forever for us to get to Orem and then we got to the girls apartment and then she said she needed to go to her parents house and get the tickets which I thought was dumb because they were just sitting in her apartment and could have gotten the tickets earlier....anyways. So we started following the car in front of us but they went to fast and the car in front of them which we were supposed to follow too went through a light that they shouldn't have because then we all got lost.
So we called one of the girls and she told us to just meet at the Macy's at the Orem mall and we'd meet there. Well Sidney, Asia, and I were STARVING so we RAN into the mall to the food court then RAN back to Sidney's car so we could follow them. Well they didn't really wait for us so we just left on our merry way to the theater. While we were on the high way we were over by Pleasant Grove and American Fork and this high way patrol man was on the high way too. We made sure not to pass him but then he went all crazy, he turned on his lights (no one in front of him FYI) and drove from one side of the high way to the other getting us to slow down. It was the craziest thing I've ever seen. Sidney and Asia think it might have been that the clean up crew was almost done so he slowed us down so we wouldn't hit the accident.
Well we finally get to the theater. With next to NO help from the girls we were supposed to be following because they didn't know where they were going! AND the movie was starting so to say I was a little upset would be an understatement. We decided right then that the three of us would be going to the second half by OURSELVES!
I'm going to now make a list of things I thought were good, cheesy, and things that got me confused.
GOOD (in no particular order):
- Jessica's speech
- How they made Bella look while she was pregnant.
- Showing Jacob imprint on Renesme
CHEESY (in no particular order):
- The wolves "talking" to each other
- All of the jokes were mostly cheesy
- The fact that Bella and Edward were playing chess because of the cover
GOT ME CONFUSED:
- The wolves phasing before winter. I've read a book series where there are werewolves but they can only change into wolves during the winter. The first book is Shiver. Great great book
- The whole close up of Stephenie Meyer
- Why Bella was wearing tennis shoes when she was talking to Jacob
- why the whole birth scene was so dramatic
Well this is my review. Its all mine. Although a little was swayed by Sidney.

Voting
I think one thing to remember when voting is to figure out who to vote for. Because most Americans just vote willy nilly and don't do their research. So for family night last Monday my mom, step dad, and I did our research and figured out who we wanted to vote for and who would be best for our town.
Now unfortunately our town didn't do stickers this year so my mom made me one. So next election be sure to vote! We need to vote because it's our civic duty as an American Citizen
The Name Game
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQ8BoYEgy1I
Okay look at this link, its a link to Brian Regan's thing about names. It totally applies. Now the part I want you to watch isn't till the every end. But its great hes a funny guy.
I have decided that I have the worse name. Both of my names are hard. I have to teach EVERY one how to say BOTH of my names. So this doesn't really work out much. Hopefully I'm lucky like my sister and get married to someone with a last name that's easier.

I got another letter!
I was sitting with my parents in the living room I had my laptop on and I was playing around on Pinterest and Facebook and stuff and then I had this sick feeling someone I knew was hurt or something was wrong and I didn't know what happened. I told my mom about it and she told me to text my siblings about it and ask them if they were okay. Tedi texted back and said they were fine so I texted David and of course he didn't answer but I figured if something was wrong with them I would have heard something. I decided that it had to do with one of the missionaries I'm writing.
I got a letter this week and it wasn't from Ryan which I thought was weird because I just sent him a package and I thought it would get there before P-day, oh well...but anyways I got a letter from one of the other missionaries I'm writing.
His name is Elder Holt and I got his address from the group I'm on on Facebook. The best part of the letter was that he sent a picture! It was awesome and I showed it to my mom and she said he looks like Logan, my brother in laws brother, and a little bit like Chase, my brother in law which I thought was funny. But his letter scared me, he had a scary experience this past week and so I think that's where my bad feeling came from, he's okay obviously but it still was scary. Anyways this is really random but I just needed to tell someone about it and what better place than my blog!

High School Again
Awesome right? Its like the drama I never had in high school. Yeah that's right I never had drama in high school. I tried to keep myself out of it because I knew from my sisters experience that having drama in high school is hell. So I've tried my best to keep out of it. I don't want it and I don't try to create it. It comes to me. My so called best friend texted me yesterday saying that "You're dragging me down" "And until you learn to be happy and listen to me I need a break." Say what? I always thought that our friendship was one that if we had a problem we could talk it out. Apparently not. But I was talking to my other friend and she was saying that it's all this one girls fault. That this one girl has always had a problem with me and that I'm always depressed and I'm super self centered and its all about ME ME ME!
On this blog I can make it all about me, why? Because its my blog and I can talk about whatever I want. But anyways I always thought that our friendship was one that we could talk about it and I just feel like crap sometimes because she was listening to someone else to get advice from and an opinion of me.
I just want to tell my readers out there that IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ME TELL IT TO MY FACE! I DON'T WANT A FREAKING TEXT MESSAGE SAYING YOU "WANT A BREAK FROM OUR FRIENDSHIP!" WE'RE NOT A COUPLE STOP ACTING AS THIS IS A RELATIONSHIP! Sorry I just had to get that off my chest.
Carolin out!
Ps. I'm SO happy and I feel like a weight I didn't even know was there has been lifted off of my shoulders.

Weird Boy
Apparently I didn't. So I'm still officially in the waiting game, oh wait no I'm not because he dropped another bomb on me in my last two letters, that he's coming home. He's only been out 2 months, almost 3. Great right? Not really. I told him in two letters that I don't want him home unless its for medical reasons.
Sidney has said that he wants to do everything that isn't what I'm expecting. First he told me he was going on a mission. Next he told he loves me. Third he told me he loves another girl and what I thought was Dear Janeing me. And now Fourth is that he told me he's coming home. Sidney said that last he'll come home and tell me he's marrying someone who's not me.
So he's a weird boy and I just need to figure it out. He's pissing me off. But that's all for now. I'll let you know what's the next crazy thing he's told me.

Random Pictures from My Phone

Please don't mind part of my car in the first picture, but anyways I took these pictures because I was looking out my window driving(you'd hope so right?) but I was having a not so good day. It didn't seem like anything was going right and then I saw this beautiful scenery. I don't know why I thought it was so pretty but I just did.As soon as I took these pictures my phone died. Go figure right? But I'm happy I was able to take these pictures and have it help lift my day up.
